Abstract

In a rotary dynamometric system energy is absorbed by a hydraulic brake and by reduction gearing, the brake casing 1 being rotatably mounted on the brake shaft 11 and adapted to act through torque arms on stationary electrical load cells 6 and the gearing casing 7 being rigidly connected by a bridge piece 8 to the brake casing 1 and the gearing output shaft rigidly connected to the rotor shaft. The reduction gearing may be a differential gear. A flange 10 is provided for connecting a slow-running power generator to the dynamometer and a flange 9 for a high-speed power generator.
