Abstract

1,188,318. Control of A.C. power. ELEKTROIMPEX MAGYAR HIRADASTECHNIKAI ES FINOMMECHANIKAI KULKERESKEDELMI VALLALAT. 15 Dec., 1967, No. 57184/67. Heading H2H. [Also in Division G3] A circuit for controlling reverse parallel connected thyristors 7 comprises a pair of capacitors charged through diodes arranged in push-pull connection from an A.C. supply, a variable D.C. bias on the diodes provided by a control means 1 which varies the charging time, the capacitor voltages being shaped in signal forming units 3 the outputs from which are differentiated in units 4, into square waves amplified and supplied through a transformer 6 to the control electrodes of the thyristors. The circuit partly compensates for mains voltage variations as a low voltage causes the amplitude of output signals from unit 2 to decrease and hence advance the firing point of thyristors 7. The control input signal to means I may be provided by a programme unit. The arrangement may control the lighting in a television or motion picture studio.
