Abstract

1,188,280. Laying culverts. L. I. D. LLEWELLYN. 17 July, 1967 [15 July, 1966], No. 49798/69. Divided out of 1,179,845. Heading F2P. A method of assembling a longitudinal section of culvert including the steps of forming a bed 14 of fill material such as sand, laying thereon a plurality of segments 1 of the type disclosed in parent Specification 1,179,845, with or without the friction reducing material so as to provide the lower part of the circumference of the culvert, disposing a former 12 on one or more of the segments, assembling other similar segments on to the former to complete the circumference of the culvert, cooling further fill material about the culvert, and removing the former. Using a different type of former (Fig. 11, not shown) two horizontally opposed segments are braced (Fig. 10, not shown).
