Abstract

1,188,136. Garment pressing apparatus. WESTON LAUNDRY MACHINE CO. Ltd. 12 Nov., 1968 [11 Sept., 1967], No. 41442/67. Heading D1A. A buck for a cabinet press, eg that described in Specification 1,033,132, comprises two spaced part 10, 12 so arranged that a boiler suit or the like can be hung on the upper part 10 with the seat occupying the space 28 between the parts and the trouser and leg portion to one side of the lower part 12, any excess 30 being folded round the end of the buck. Parts 10, 12 are connected by a duct 14 and are mounted on a stand 16 slits being provided in the sides of part 10 and the lower wall 18 of part 12. The neck of the boiler suit or the like is held by a clamp 22 against a hot air inlet on top of part 10. The ends of the sleevs 34 are gripped by grippers 24 on the ends of arms 23 mounted on stand 16. The leg ends 30 are held by clips 32. The garment is pressed by hot irons and by blowing hot air and/or steam through it. In a modification, Fig. 4, an inflatable bag 30 of polyester fibre is provided between the parts 10 and 12 and bags 42 are attached to either side of part 12, the bags being inflated by compressed air.
