Abstract

The coils of a variable inductance or inductive coupling, metal detector are formed by a printed circuit "board". The coils may be mounted in boxes for mechanical protection and electrical screening, above and below a conveyer belt. Alternatively the printed-circuit-board may be rolled into a tube. A coil or grid may be printed on the back of the board for compensation of electrostatic screening.
