Abstract

1, 186, 223. Projection printing apparatus. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORP. March 13, 1968 [Feb.24, 1967], No.8885/67. Headings G2A and G2C. A continuous sheet 16 of material, folded concertina fashion in a receptacle (14, Fig.1, not shown) is intermittently advanced, by rotation of a handle 27, past bars 17, 18, under a copy board 12, and then over the copy board to a bar 19 by means of which it is refolded into a second receptacle 15. A glass plate 28 holds the sheet 16 flat against the copy board, where it is photographed. The sheet 16 is driven by tractor devices 23, 24 having sprockets 26 engaging perforations 25 in the sheet 16. Two reels 31, 32 support a second continuous sheet 33 which is movable in a direction at right angles to the direction of movement of the sheet 16. The sheet 33 is transparent apart from the information is is desired to accurately superimpose on the photograph of a section of the sheet 16. Further information carried by a transparent disc 34 may be superimposed on a section of the sheet 16 prior to photographing it. The board 12 may be raised or lowered to obtain different magnification/reduction ratios.
