Abstract

[Also in Division F4] In a mechanism for operating alternatively one or other of two dampers 7, 9 in a heating/ cooling unit (see Division F4), each of two levers 13, 14 has one end connected to a respective one of the dampers and the other end engaging a respective cam slot in a disc 15 rotatable by an actuator 18. The cam surfaces 21, 22, 24, 25 are so formed that with the disc 15 in one position both dampers are closed, and rotation of the disc from this position clockwise (Fig. 2) opens the damper 7, damper 9 remaining closed, while rotation anticlockwise opens the damper 9, leaving damper 7 closed. Surfaces 21, 24 are arcs centred on the axis of rotation of the disc 15. The actuator 18 may be a double-acting pneumatic ram acting via a connecting rod 19, or an electric actuator.
