Abstract

1,182,967. Vehicle headlamps. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 23 Sept., 1967, No. 43389/67. Heading F4R. The rim whereby the lens 15 is clamped to the reflector 11 in a vehicle headlamp assembly is provided with three points of attachment to a flange 7 forming part of the lamp casing 5 which is fixed to the body of the vehicle, the rim being spaced from the flange and the connection between one of the points of attachment and the flange being effected through a plastics leaf-spring member 43, the free end of which may be moved by means of a Bowden wire leading to the vehicle dashboard whereby the attitude of the headlamp may be adjusted to allow for different loadings of the vehicle. The other connections are effected through long bolts which screw into suitable threaded spigots on the flange 7, one being surrounded by a rubber bush between the flange and the rim and the other being adjustable.
