Lifeboats or similar vessels 18 are stored on an apparatus from which they can be launched, the apparatus comprising two parallel spacedapart tracks 11 secured to the deck and having slots 14 therein guiding rollers 15 fixed to a frame 13 that can tip at the ends of its travel, as shown, because of enlargements 16 of slots 14 and thus the lifeboat can be launched.
