A vehicle anti-theft device comprises a chain 16 fitted at one end with a hook 11 to engage a pedal 23 or other control member and at its other end with a padlock 22, the chain in use being wrapped round a steering wheel 24, including a horn rim 24, if provided, with the padlock engaged with an intermediate link of the chain. That part of the chain wrapped around the steering wheel may be provided with a plastics sleeve.
