Abstract

1,181,687. Mounting dielectric heating electrodes. J. P. STEVENS & CO. Inc. 9 May, 1967 [17 Aug., 1966], No. 21506/67. Heading H5H. [Also in Divisions D1 and F4] Dielectric heating of an oriented substrate or fabric 49 is used to control the deposition of a finishing agent upon the substrate by changing the direction of the generated high-frequency field relative to the substrate 49. The electrodes 31 of alternating polarity are mounted on a rotatable frame 30 supported by a column 29, and the electrodes are adjusted about a horizontal axis by rotation of the column 29 and are tilted with respect to the horizontal plane by movement of a cam roller 38 on a cam surface 39. Alternatively the substrate is rotated through a certain angle. The field may be continuously revolved, and is varied in intensity by a control 22. The substrate 49 is adjustable relative to the electrodes 31 by adjustable support guide-rods 58.
