Photographic apparatus of the kind comprising means for exposing a sensitized sheet to provide one or more latent'images thereon and conveying apparatus for then conveying the sheet automatically to development and fixing apparatus is further provided with mashing apparatus and flash producing apparatus associated with the conveying apparatus for exposing a border around the or each image so as to give a white border to the developed sheet. Depending on whether one or several images are initially selected, a microswitch 43 or a micro-switch 56 is arranged to be closed by the leading end of an exposed sheet as it is conveyed past masking apparatus 31 or 32, so as to fire a flash-lamp in the appropriate container. The container 31 has a translucent side 35 with a stainless steel masking sheet 36 embedded therein, while the masking sheet of the container 32 is in four parts. An opaque plate 37 and a light baffle 40 are provided to prevent fogging.
