Abstract

1,180,054. Sealing panel edges. METAL SECTIONS Ltd. 31 Oct., 1967 [31 Oct., 1966], No. 48685/66. Heading E1W. Panels 10 for, e.g. partions with longitudinal edge grooves 11 therein adjacent each face are sealed from each other, or from a wall, floor or ceiling running at right angles to said edge by resilient strips 12, each with a bifurcated tongue projecting into the groove, the portions 12a having serrated outer edges to grip in the groove. In a horizontal panel-to-panel joint the strip has a downwardly projecting flange 12b as well as two opposed tongues. In a vertical panel-to-panel joint (Fig. 2, not shown), the central portion of the strip 13 has an external channel 13c, and internally-directed spaced flanges 13b contacting the panel edges. In a floor joint (Fig. 3, not shown), the strip has a central, inwardly-directed horizontal flange 14b, and downwardly-projecting flanges 14c and 14d. The strips may be continuous part panel joints, portions of the two intersecting strips being removed (Figs. 4, 5, not shown).
