Abstract

1,178,759. Vehicle body liner. VAUXHALL MOTORS Ltd., and CHELLINGWORTH & SINGER Ltd. 18 July, 1968 [10 Aug., 1967], No. 36786/67. Heading B7J. A vehicle body roof liner, comprises a pad of moulded synthetic material having a convex upper surface 1 shaped to fit the curvature of the roof, a marginal lip 3 extending around all four side edges, and springs 9 on or near the lip 3 to secure the liner in position by engaging the cantrails. The liner is further secured by fitting to the vehicle body one or two sun visors, the sun visor supports projecting through apertures 13 in the roof liner. Moulded recesses 13A are provided in the liner to accommodate the sun visors in their retracted positions. The end of the roof liner which is to be fitted to the rear end of the vehicle roof, is supported by providing it at each side with a bevelled surface 8, which rests on a separate liner pad 18 secured to the associated rear quarter pillar 17 ofthe car by means of a peg or pegs 20. Areas of magnetized S material may be attached to the liner in place of the springs.
