1178302 Chance apparatus MICHAEL BECKETT Ltd 20 Jan 1967 3121/67 Index G4V H8 In a gaming machine of the "fruit machine" kind shown diagrammatically in Fig. 1 a coin operated switch 11 when closed triggers three timing circuits 12, 13 and 14 each in the form of a monostable two state circuit. The timing circuits are triggered substantially simultaneously and have different time constants so that they return to their stable states in succession after triggering. The timing circuits are connected to pulse generators 15, 16, 17 each in the form of a multi-vibrator and each activated during the period that its associated timer is in its unstable state. The pulse generator outputs are applied to respective symbol sequencing counters 18, 19, 20. To display symbols in the usual manner connections are made between the different count stages of each counter and lamps 21 associated with graphical representations 22 in transparency form and optical systems 23 so that as each counter is sequenced successive graphical representations are projected into a display panel 24. An analyser 28 is connected to the outputs of the counters to generate a prize payment pulse and control the pay-out mechanism. In addition facilities for a jack-pot payment may be included. Transistor circuits for the various timers, pulse generators and other units are described with reference to Figs.2-15 (not shown). Modifications including alternative hold controls and payout counter devices are also described with reference to Figs.16-28 (not shown).
