Abstract

1,177,710. Heat-resistant clothing material. GLANZSTOFF A.G. 5 Oct., 1967 [5 Oct., 1966], No. 45580/67. Heading B5N. A gown or cape is made from a laminated material comprising top and bottom fabric layers and an interposed insulating layer of incombustible material based on regenerated cellulose, the three layers being quilted together. The top fabric layer consists of polyamide-6 knitwear weighing about 80 g./sq. metre and vapour-coated with aluminium. The bottom fabric layer is of rayon warp-knitted plush weighing about 270 g./sq. metre. The interposed insulating layer weighs about 220 g./sq. metre and is blackened by heat before being incorporated in the laminate. The laminated material is air-permeable and the aluminium-coated top layer is resistant to temperatures up to 400‹ C. and reflects radiated heat.
