Abstract
1,176,960. D.C. electric motors. SIEMENS A.G. 21 July, 1967 [23 July, 1966], No. 33780/67. Heading H2A. In a D.C. motor comprising a rotatable permanent magnet 2 secured to a motor shaft 1, and a magnetic yoke 6 surrounding a stationary winding 7, the latter consists of endless loops forming the curved surface of a cylinder coaxial with the magnet and each comprising two helically wound lengths extending from end to end of the winding and so wound in mutually opposite directions that in defining one complete helical loop they traverse one revolution of the cylinder. The shaft is mounted in end shields 3, 4 via sintered or plastics, e.g. domeshaped bearings, and the winding 7 is adhered to the bore of the yoke 6 which comprises stamped annular discs formed to a solid assembly by deformation of the tubular housing 5. The motor shown is of miniature size, having no commutator or slip rings.
