Abstract
1,176,727. Root crop lifters; treating soil. I M FENNER. 25 Sept., 1968 [25 Sept., 1967], No. 43528/67. Headings A1B and A1F. Anparatus to work root crops or to remove stones &c. from ground has a plurality of digging implements 14 operated by eccentrics 16 mounted on a shaft 17 so that the front digging part 12 of each implement moves in a closed path relative to the frame of the apparatus. Spaced guide arms 21 are secured to the implements and are guided at the rear by a transverse member 23 passing through slots 22 in the bars. Tines 25 detachably secured to the implements break the soil before the soil and crop move on to the bars to be shaken so as to permit the soil to escape through spaces in bar. Additional attachments are provided to reduce the spaces between bars to work different crops.
