Abstract

1,175,973. Container for displaying and selling articles. BRIRISE MARKETING Ltd. 27 Sept., 1967 [8 Nov., 1966], No. 49928/66. Heading A4T. [Also in Division B8] A container for displaying articles comprises a cardboard casing 1 in which a cardboard tray 3 slides under the weight of articles thereon against the restoring force of elastic cables 6, so that the articles are always accessible at the mouth of the container. The cables 6 may be attached to the tray with lugs 5 and releasably to the top of the container 1 with spring hooks or clips 7, the cables passing through slots 8 to be outside the container wall (Fig 3), the hooks and cable then being hidden by flaps 12, 13 of an outer casing 9, forming a bevelled edge to the container. Alternatively (Fig. 6) (not shown) flaps (22) on the container (17) hide the ends of rubber bands (25) where they are held by rods (28) outside the container wall, and an air outlet (30) is provided, so that no outer casing 9 is needed.
