Abstract

1,174,862. Protective arrangements. EPSYLON RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. Ltd. 22 May, 1968 [22 May, 1967], No. 23695/67. Heading H2K. A power supply arragement, e.g. for transistorized equipment in aircraft, comprises a transformer 12, a rectifier 13, a smoothing choke 17 a smoothing capacitor 18 and a Zener diode 19 connected across the capacitor so that short high voltage surges through the choke cause a momentary breakdown of the diode and are by-passed. If the output voltage from the arrangement rises above a predetermined level, a signal is applied to a controlled rectifier 20 to render it conductive which causes sufficient current to flow to blow a fuse 16.
