[Also in Division C3] Novel compounds of formula HS-R<SP>1</SP>-COO-R-OOC-R<SP>1</SP>-SH, where R is the non-hydroxylic residue of dicyclohexanol propane (2,2-bis-(4-hydroxycyclohexyl)-propane) and R<SP>1</SP> is -CH 2 -, -CHCH 3 - or -CH 2 CH 2 - (same or different) are prepared by esterifying dicyclohexanol propane with appropriate mercaptoacetic or mercaptopropionic acids. The above mercapto esters are reacted with dihydrocarbon tin oxides, A 2 SnO, where A is aliphatic, araliphatic or aryl, to give products used for stabilizing vinyl chloride polymers.
