Abstract

1,172,870. Digital transmission systems. MARCONI INSTRUMENTS Ltd. 21 Feb., 1967 [30 June, 1966], No. 29470/66. Heading H4P. An apparatus which generates a preset message comprises a disc 1 carrying an image of the preset coded message which is scanned by a camera 6. The camera output passes via integrator 12 to a gate 13 which is also fed by halfbit duration bit rate clock pulses from clock 11. The gated pulses pass to pulse shaper 14. The camera scan generator is controlled by the clock pulses: the scan may be spiral or a raster in which alternate lines are scanned in opposite directions. Several preset messages may be recorded on disc 1, a message being selected by rotating the disc to position the image before the camera.
