A childs toy or teething device comprises a component with a circular, elliptical, or like curvilinear rim 13, the rim being of undulating or sinuous form and there being a plurality of depressions 11 in and around the component from both its surfaces adjacent the rim. As shown, the device comprises an outer undulating annular part 10 to which is fitted on both surfaces dome-shaped parts 15. The device is hollow, of a synthetic plastics material, and floats, and may contain a bead or pea (16) so that it forms a rattle. The parts 15 are snapfitted to the annular part 10 or are secured by adhesive. The device may be in contrasting colours.
