Abstract

1,172,405. Bleaching compositions. KAO SOAP CO. Ltd. 28 April, 1967 [2 May, 1966], No. 19632/67. Heading D1P. A granular bleaching composition is produced by heating a solid powdery composition containing sodium perborate and at least one granulating aid which is magnesium sulphate, beryllium sulphate, potassium chloride, potassium nitrate, sugar or sodium borate, while simultaneously agitating it. The composition may contain 10-80% by weight of the sodium perborate and 1-20% by weight of the granulating aid and may be heated for 5-30 minutes at 64-95‹C in a rotary container. The composition may also contain a chelating agent, e.g. ethylene diamine tetracetic acid, sodium silicate, an alkali metal carbonate, a fluorescent dye, a surface active agent, e.g. a sodium alkyl benzene sulphate or a sodium higher alkyl sulphate, sodium tripolyphosphate, sodium pyrophosphate, sodium sulphate and carboxymethyl cellulose.
