Abstract

[Also in Division G4] Articles such as wrapped sweets are fed upwards from a vibrating bowl 10 along a helical path 12 by a vibrator 11. They fall through an electronic counting head 15 and members 17, 18, 27 to a packaging device 31 until a batch has been counted. At this point a ram 30 swings members 17, 18 to dashed-line position to direct following articles back to hopper 10. When a new packet is position in 31 the parts return to original condition. The passage of the articles through 15, 17, 18 may be accelerated by an air blast or a continuous conveyer.
