Abstract

1,172,039. Bearings. INA-NEEDLE BEARINGS Ltd. 1 Dec., 1967, No. 54890/67. Heading F2A. A needle bearing comprises inner and outer races 1, 2 with surface portions beyond the ends of the needles 3 having a minimum working clearance therebetween to form a sealing gap, one surface portion being knurled. In Fig. 3 inner race 1 has shoulders 5 with knurled surfaces 6 at a minimum working clearance to race 2, in order to prevent entry of fluff or dirt into the bearing. A cap (7, Fig. 1, not shown) with a grease nipple (12) locates the races axially.
