Abstract

1,171,818. Smoker's lighters. SVENSKA TANDSTICKS A.B. 11 Dec., 1967 [12 Dec., 1966], No. 56184/67. Heading F4F. A gas - fuelled lighter, with a body 1 of plastics material enclosing a fuel container 2 and a transparent bottom member 4, has a wick 6 leading to a fuel duct 7 connected to a burner nozzle 19 and the flow of fuel is controlled by means of a plug 22 in a transverse bore and consisting of a main portion 22a of rubber and an end portion 22b of porous material such as a washer of double-folded felt. The compression of the porous washer can be adjusted by means of a screw 23 engaging a foil 22c of aluminium which protects the face of the rubber against wear.
