Casting slag.-In machines of the type in which the moulds a are pivoted on axles d and are tilted to discharge the blocks, the discharge is affected by the engagement of rollers or bosses b<1> on depending arms b with an adjustable stationary projection c, and the moulds are reinverted by the engagement of the rollers b<1> with a cam groove c' assisted, if desired, by projections f engaging a contact member e. Each mould is formed with a flange a<1> adapted to enter a recess in the adjacent mould to prevent loss of material, and is carried by a frame member i furnished with ribs i<1> against which the mould rests when tilted. The invention is particularly described in connexion with machines of the rotary-table type.
