Abstract

1,170,313. Sawing. G. R. SHARP, and D. A. SHARP. 4 April, 1968 [21 April, 1967], No. 18441/67. Heading B5L. A portable chain saw comprises handle means 12, 13, 14 attached to the body thereof for carrying and supporting the saw in use and in which at the points of attachment of the handle means to the body coil springs 15, 16 are interposed to dampen or prevent the transmission of vibrations to an operator grasping the handle means when in use. The handle means consists of a generally C-shaped metal tube 14 welded to one end of a tube 13 which is curved at its other end and welded to a tube 12. Three coil springs 15, 16 are bolted to the tube and to the body of the saw.
