1,170,139. Work feeding devices. STEWARTS & LLOYDS Ltd. 23 July, 1968 [3 Aug., 1967], No. 35675/67. Heading B3B. A workpiece feed device comprises a tiltable gripping member in the form of a plate 2, tiltable about a pivot 3 and having an opening therein through which a workpiece 1 passes, fluid actuating means 6 connected to the plate the reciprocating movement thereof causing tilting and sliding of the plate in guides 5. The tilting of the plate effects frictional engagement between gripper blocks 7, located adjacent the plate opening, and the workpiece, which hence slides with the plate.
