Abstract

1,169,974. Textile treating apparatus. K. SCHOELLER. 15 March, 1967 [16 March, 1966], No. 12223/67. Heading D1L. An endless length of textile material 9 is washed in a machine comprising a trough 1, a reciprocating table 2 positioned in the trough a stationary guiding and supporting surface 10 for the material arranged relative to the table- 2 such that the textile material 9 assumes a succession of folds on the table. The table 2 is perforated so that liquid passes through the table to the material during the reciprocating motion of the table. Braking surfaces in the form of steps 13 are provided on the surface of the table to prevent the material slipping on the table. Wedge-shaped projections 3, 4 are situated on the underside of the table and on the bottom of the trough respectively, the projections 3, 4 being in staggered relationship to increase the movement of liquid due to the table reciprocations. Curved guide plates (5, Fig. 2) are provided in the trough to direct liquid to the upper surface of the material on the table. A frame 7 consisting of parallel rods and adjustable relative to the table is provided above the table to prevent the material leaving the table.
