Abstract

1,169,678. Film &c. slitting apparatus. CHORI CO. Ltd. 22 July, 1968 [26 July, 1967], No. 34788/68. Heading B4B. Apparatus for slitting film 23 or sheet material comprises a plurality of toothed cutter discs 8 and a plurality of washers 7 mounted alternately on a common shaft 2, a pair of ratchet wheels 5, 6 each fitted with screw pins 14, 15, 16 and 17, 18, 19, the cutter discs and washers each having a radial cut gap, the gaps being aligned when the cutter discs and washers are assembled so as to form a cut gap line, the assembly of cutter discs and washers being twisted in the direction of the shaft by driving the screw pins inwardly or outwardly to stagger the tooth arrangement with respect to the cut gap line. The cutter discs are driven by a press roll 20, Fig. 1.
