Abstract

1,169,618. Knitted fabric garments. MARUNAO MERIYASU KOGYO K.K. 10 March, 1967 [16 March, 1966; 29 Nov., 1966], No. 11347/67. Heading A3V. Knitted fabric garments are made by cutting through a stack of flattened tubular members to form a plurality of garment blanks, which are seen to form seams at the lower edges of the sleeves and at the body sides. A continuous tubular length of material may be zigzag folded to form the stack Fig. 3, or a number of separate tubular pieces of material may be stacked, Fig. 2b. In the latter case, the stack is cut along the lines 12-11-12 to form a number of garment blanks A1, the areas L being scrap. The individual tubular blanks A1 are cut along the sleeve cuff ends C, after which the sleeve lower sides 12 and the body sides 11 are sewn together and a neck opening 13 cut out to form a shirt, Fig. 5a. Gussets (4) (Fig. 5b, not shown) may be sewn on to the armpit. When the stack is formed by a continuous tubular length of material, it is transversely cut along the line 12-11-12, Fig. 2a, to form the garment blanks B1 to A4 Fig. 3, the portions AX and BX being scrap. In other embodiments (Figs 6-10, not shown), the cutting lines 12-11-12 are differently positioned.
