In a multi-colour rotary screen printing machine in which a web 14 (Fig. 2) is transported by a blanket 13 through a series of printing stations the printing apparatus at each station comprises a screen mounting assembly having a pair of parallel carriers 1, 2 extending transversely above the blanket 13 for receiving bearing, guiding, support and/or drive elements for a cylindrical screen 12 inserted between the two carriers the latter being adjustable relative to the frame of the machine. By horizontally adjusting the carriers 1, 2 transversely to the direction of passage of the web through the operation of a hand wheel 19 the screen 12 can be positioned in a required location in the transverse direction. By skewing the carriers in a plane parallel to that of the blanket 13 through the operation of a hand wheel 24 it is possible to line up a design and to avoid poor printing due to the design not running axially. A motor driven shaft and bevel gear arrangement 31, 32, 33 is provided to adjust the carriers 1, 2 in a direction normal to the blanket 13. The bearing, guiding, support or drive elements 8, 9, 15, 16 can be adjusted to permit adjustment for different screen lengths.
