Abstract

1,168,606. Structurally associating cooking units. F. WENGER. 17 April, 1968 [18 April, 1967], No. 18034/68. Heading A4D. Two domestic or catering units, specifically fryers, of similar size, the shells of which comprise like flat side walls each having an overhanging rim 3 around its upper edge are assembled by locating two said side walls a in opposed relation with a connecting cover plate between the rims, comprising a central vertical flange 9 of like length and height to said rims carrying a roof member 8 extending over the top of both rims and carrying on each side of the lower edge of the central vertical flange a rib fitting underneath the respective rim and passing spaced connecting members through both rims and the intervening flange thereby locking the rims and the connecting cover plate together in closely-fitting relation. The spaced connecting members may be bolts or pins passing through opposed holes 4 in the rims and embraced by slots 9a, 9b which extend upwards from the base of the connecting cover plate and which fit over enlarged central portions of the respective bolts or pins. The units may be additionally locked together by a small cross-bar which is secured on the backs of the units by means of butterfly screws.
