SIMONOV. 5 March, 1968, No. 10623/68. Headings BIC and B1F. Apparatus for mixing miscible or immiscible liquids, or liquids and solids, or reagents, comprises a first vessel 2 connected to a pulsating pressure generating means 4 and communicating with a second vessel 3 inside a reservoir 1 with which it intercommunicates through nozzles 5 tangential to a hypothetical surface of rotation C; the nozzles are arranged to ensure unidirectional rotation of the liquid but make an acute angle α with a line kk parallel to the axis of rotation dd. In another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) the reservoir 1 and vessel 3 are horizontal and the first vessel (2 a ) is also inside the reservoir; and in a further embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown) the first vessel (2b) is inside the vessel 3. Operation of the pressure pulsator 4 causes passage of the liquid back and forth between the reservoir 1 as the vessels 2, 3 through the nozzles 5 with rotation and translation of the liquid.
