Abstract

1,168,260. Television receivers; cabinets. MOSKOVSKY RADIOZAVOD. 30 Dec., 1966 [30 Dec., 1965], No. 58459/66. Headings H4F and H4J. A television receiver cabinet 4 comprises a trough-shaped chamber 1 at the cabinet bottom disposed so that the tip of the trough is transverse of the cabinet. Front and rear trough walls subtend an angle of substantially 90 degrees. A loud-speaker 2 is mounted to cover an opening in the rear trough wall and thereby communicate with the chamber. For forwards transmission of sound, a box-shaped sound waveguide 12 is provided having a bottom wall 11, a transverse rear wall 18 and side walls 9, 10. Wall 11 extends forwardly of the chamber. Preferably the rear trough wall extends into waveguide 12 so that a resonant volume is provided between the rear trough wall and rear of waveguide 12. The bottom of the waveguide 12 terminates rearwardly of the cabinet front panel and extends forwardly beyond the chamber, and the cabinet is provided with legs or runners extending downwardly of the bottom of waveguide 12. An external waveguide terminating in a front slot 14 is provided when the cabinet is placed on a table.
