Abstract

1167647 Trenching apparatus A R S MORRICE 26 Feb 1968 [3 March 1967] 10109/67 Addition to 1122301 Index F2P 36 The self advancing, trench-shoring shuttering assembly of Specification 1122301 is modified so as to now be steerable in order that the direction of advance of the assembly may be changed without need, as in the case of the assembly of Specification 1122301, of removal from the trench in which it is functioning. The side walls 2, 4 of the assembly are now, adjacent the trailing upright edges of the walls, hingedly joined about an upright axis 64 and adjacent the leading edges are joined by at least one strut of variable length. Variation of the length of the or each strut can be utilized to swing the side walls towards or away from each other to re-align the side walls parallel to the next required direction of advance of the assembly.
