Abstract
116,761. McMicken, H. G. June 22, 1917. Crutches.-A crutch pad, adapted when formed to be secured to the arm of the crutch by nails, lacing, &c., is constructed so that the pad is of varying thickness, as shown in Fig. 1. Two pieces of fabric, an upper piece B and a lower piece C, are sewn together along the lines E, E<1>. Before sewing, the right-hand ends of the lines are placed together and the stitches inserted along all the lines except the extreme right hand. Padding is then inserted and the opening secured after which the pad is first fixed by nailing the flaps of the lower member C to the crutch, the flaps of the upper member B then being secured in position, as shown in Fig. 14.
