Abstract

1,167,120. Magnetic laminates. JAMES NEILL HOLDINGS Ltd. 20 June, 1968, No. 29401/68. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions B6 and G5] A permanent magnetic laminate comprises a magnetized sheet of magnetic particles bonded by rubber or synthetic plastics secured to one face of a steel sheet whose other face is secured to a synthetic plastics sheet (which can be used as a writing surface). The layers may be bonded by a hot-melt adhesive which may be used alone or as a coating on tissue paper for assembly between the layers. The laminate may be made by assembling the layers, clamping under pressure and passing an electric current through the steel sheet to melt the adhesive. The magnetic particles may be barium ferrite.
