Abstract
1,167,080. Detectors. MARCONI CO. Ltd. 7 Aug., 1968 [29 Dec., 1967], No. 59167/67. Heading H3T. A detector circuit comprising a detector element with a non-linear characteristic includes, on the signal input side of the detector element, a non-linear resistance element the characteristic of which is adapted to provide compensation for the non-linearity. Diode detector 3 is fed from amplifier 1 and provides an output at terminal 4, across load resistor 7 and smoothing capacitor 8. Bias is provided from terminal 5 via resistors 6, 11. Compensation for non- linearity is provided by a further diode 9, in series with which is resistor 10 which prevents over-compensation at higher signal amplitudes.
