Abstract

1,166,902. Moulding tablets. TAKEDA CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. 28 June, 1967 [2 July, 1966], No. 29952/67. Heading B5A. In a tablet making machine of the rotary table type comprising a number of dies D, each with opposed punches A, B, which pass in turn between rollers R1, R 2 so that material in each die is compressed by its punches to form a tablet C, pressure is maintained on each tablet by its punches for a period after the die has passed the rollers and whilst the tablet is passing upwardly through the die. In the embodiment of Fig. 2 a guide block 2 with an inclined upper surface guides the lower punch from the roller upwardly on to a rail G and so maintains the pressure. The inclination of the block guide surface may be varied by a wedge located between a support 3 and the block. Instead of a block a guide roller may be located adjacent the upper or lower roller.
