Abstract
1,166,874. Coated mica paper. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. 15 Nov., 1967 [20 Dec., 1966], No. 52003/67. Heading B2E. [Also in Divisions B5 and C3] Mica paper for use in electrical insulating materials is impregnated with a composition comprising: (a) bis (2, 3-epoxycyclopentyl) ether; (b) another poly-1, 2-epoxide; and (c) a resorcinol/formaldehyde condensate as a hardener which may be present so as to provide 0.6 to 1.2 hydroxyl groups per epoxy group. The ratio of (a): (b) may vary from 70:30 to 30:70. Tape produced may have a reinforced backing. e.g. of glass cloth or a polyethylene terephthalate fabric. (see Division B5).
