Abstract
1,166,146. Plastics - cellulose laminates. BRITISH SIDAC Ltd. 10 June, 1968 [13 March, 1967], No. 11620/67. Heading B5N. [Also in Divisions B2 and C3] A film of polyethylene is applied by melt extrusion to one side of a film of regenerated cellulose which has been coated with a coating composition comprising (a) 2-40% of an aqueous suspension of a vinylidene chloride copolymer and (b) 98-60% of a solution of a vinylidene chloride copolymer in a volatile organic solvent (see Division C3). The polyethylene may be 0À002 inch thick. Layers of the resultant composite film may be bonded by placing with the polyethylene-coated surfaces together and clamping between heated metal jaws.
