Abstract

1,165,561. Control of motors. GARDINENUND DEKOWERKE ZWICKAU VEB. 7 Oct., 1966, No. 44935/66. Heading H2J. [Also in Division D1] To avoid snags during the starting up and running down periods of a Raschel knitting machine the acceleration and retardation is controlled during at least a part of those periods. The drive may comprise a commutator motor, a slip-ring motor, a Ward-Leonard system or a variable speed gear and the speed is increased or decreased by a pilot motor which is cut in and out by switches actuated by a speed indicating pointer. Speed is normally uncontrolled below, e.g. 180 loop courses per minute, the control being effected between this speed and running speed, e.g. 500 per minute. An emergency stop is provided.
