Abstract

1,165,006. Finishing. ROTO-FINISH CO. 18 Oct., 1966 [20 Oct., 1965], No. 46540/66. Heading B3D. A finishing composition comprises an abrasive material and pellets comprising the solid phase of a material which is a liquid or gas at room temperature. Pellets entrapped in the workpiece during the finishing are dislodged by melting or subliming the pellets. Ice or solid carbon dioxide or nitrogen may be used. The abrasive material may be emery, carborundum or diamond dust; it may be separate from the pellets or dispersed or embedded in the pellets, either uniformly therein or concentrated at the surface, centre or at some other portion thereof. The pellets may include other materials.
