Abstract

1,163,650. Wells &c. COMMERCIAL SHEARING & STAMPING CO. 10 Aug., 1967 [29 Sept., 1966], No. 36873/67. Heading E1F. A shaft liner segment comprises inner and outer spaced concentric cylinders 11, 10, with a corrugated cylinder 12 disposed between and attached to them, lugs 15 spaced around one end of the segment, and lugs 16 disposed between cylinders 10, 11 at the other end of the segment, so that relative rotation of adjacent segments draws them together, as by mating inclined surfaces 15a, 16a. When two segments are joined together, the annular pocket in which the lugs lie may be filled with a sealant which swells on contact with water.
