A process for bonding together textile sheets, e.g. woven or knitted fabrics, felts or fleeces of cotton, rayon, polyacrylonitrile, polyamide or polyester fibres comprises using as bonding agent a copolymer of ethylene with 1 to 35% by weight of at least one α: #-unsaturated carboxylic acid having from 3 to 5 carbon atoms, the copolymer being in the form of a powder or in the form of filaments, a fleece or a fabric. If a fleece is used, it may contain other fibres or a binder. Bonding is preferably effected by sintering the copolymer on one textile sheet and applying the second textile sheet thereto under heat and pressure.
