Abstract
116,252. Edmonds, J. W. April 24, 1918. Composition fuel.-A composition for use in treating fuel consists of common salt, sal soda, whiting, gum acacia, and oxalic acid, with or without zinc sulphate or lampblack, or both. Suitable quantities of these ingredients are 100 lb. of common salt, 63 lb. of sal soda, 27 lb. of whiting, 19 oz. of gum acacia, 15 lb. of oxalic acid, zinc sulphate 2 lb. 2 oz., and lampblack sufficient to colour the composition. In making the composition, the salt and lampblack are mixed together and dried, the sal soda is ground and mixed with the whiting, and the mixture is dried. These two mixtures are mixed together, and the resulting mixture is mixed successively with the gum acacia, zinc sulphate, and oxalic acid. Mixed with hot water, the composition is sprinkled over the coal or other fuel.
