Abstract

1,161,589. Electric meters. ETABLISSEMENTS ED. JAEGER S. A. Feb. 22, 1968 [ Feb. 24, 1967], No. 8628/68. Heading G1Q. The central magnet assembly of a moving coil galvanometer has polepieces 2, 3 which are held in place by a one piece moulded member 4 of plastics material. The moulded member is itself supported by an intermediate casing member 13, also of plastics material, which is fixed to the remainder of the casing by U-shaped spring clamps. The bearings for the spindle 7 of the meter coil 5 are supported in the end members of the casing. Movement of the spindle drives a further spindle 12 carrying the instrument pointer 15 through suitable gearing 17, 18. Zero adjustment may be achieved by moving the scale 16, together with a printed circuit power carrying unit 23 which is secured with the dial to the end member 8.
